Is all the manga on Omoi legal?
Yes! Omoi licenses all of our manga from official publishers and pays royalties back to them based on how many chapters you read. By reading manga on Omoi, you’re supporting creators, publishers, and localization staff!
Who owns Omoi?
Omoi was created by a small team of mostly ex-Crunchyroll staff. We’re an independent company, not owned by any big manga publishers or media companies, so every bit of support you can give means the world to us!
Does Omoi have an app?
Of course. Download the app on iOS or Android to read the whole catalog on your phone or tablet.
What happened to Azuki?
We launched Omoi under the name Azuki (with the domain name azuki.co) on June 28, 2021, and changed our name to Omoi (with the new domain omoi.com) on November 13, 2025. We’re still the same manga service, owned and operated by the same people. Your subscriptions will continue unchanged, and your purchases are all still here. All that changed was the name!
Why do I have to pay for some chapters?
We make as much manga available via an Omoi Premium membership as we can. However, some publishers only allow certain series or volumes to be distributed in subscription services like ours, and require others to be available only via direct purchase. Despite this, we want to make sure you can read these series to completion on Omoi, so we make volumes and chapters available for purchase. And if you’re a Premium member, you get a discount on all volume purchases!
Why are some series incomplete?
Sometimes publishers that we work with discontinue the English releases for a series. Unfortunately we can’t control this, so you won’t be able to read additional chapters unless the publisher begins releasing it again. If there’s a series you really want to see more of, please let us know via our support portal so we can notify the publisher! In the meantime you can add the series to your list (via the + My List button) to get notified if new chapters are released.
Are there complete series on Omoi?
Yes! The vast majority of series on Omoi are complete or up-to-date, and many of them can be read in their entirety via an Omoi Premium membership.
Can I download chapters or volumes?
You can download chapters for offline reading within the Omoi iOS and Android apps as long as you’ve unlocked them via a Premium membership or a volume or chapter purchase. In addition, some series allow DRM-free volume downloads. To check if a series allows DRM-free downloads, go to the “Volumes” tab and look for the info box, which will mention ePub availability. We’re planning to make this easier to spot and filter on in the future!
Unfortunately, many series don’t allow DRM-free downloads. This is because of restrictions from our publishers, but we’re working toward expanding DRM-free availability in the future.
When will my favorite series be available on Omoi?
We can’t make any promises since series availability depends on our licensing negotiations with publishers. However, if there’s a series you would like to see on Omoi, or a series you would like to see more of, feel free to let us know via our support portal, Discord server, or our social media accounts (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook)!
Additionally, one of the best things you can do to ensure Omoi’s catalog continues to grow is to subscribe to Omoi Premium and read more manga on Omoi! The more that we can show publishers that fans are signing up for subscriptions and reading manga, the easier it is to get new manga on the app.
What can I do to support creators I like?
By subscribing to Omoi and reading series on Omoi, you’re already supporting the creators, publishers, and localization staff. Omoi pays royalties to publishers based on (anonymized) readership, so specifically reading series by creators you like means contributing more to those creators and their publishers!
