Azuki is now Omoi! Same manga, same app, new name

It’s been more than four years since we launched as Azuki in June 2021. Today we’re excited to announce a new name for our manga reading platform and publisher: Omoi

Over the next few days you’ll see the Omoi name and logo roll out across all of our platforms, including our website, which is now omoi.com. If you have the app installed already, you’ll still have it, just with a new name, and old links to azuki.co will redirect to Omoi. We’ll also be rolling out further changes to the app design over the coming months.

To be clear: there are no other changes at the company! We’re still owned and run by the same team that started Azuki back in 2021, and we aren’t making any changes to the subscription or pricing. Just a new name, simple as that.

Why now? And why this name?

Our team has a ton of love for “Azuki” as a name, but in the past four years we’ve encountered a number of other companies using the same or similar names, confusing a lot of our users and partners. And as we gear up for a wave of new manga joining the platform later this year, we decided it was worth it to start fresh.

As for Omoi, it comes from 想い, a Japanese word that can mean “thought” or “feeling.” We think it captures our thoughtful approach to manga publishing.
